A Win for Natural Food!

Washington State Votes to Label GMO Foods

On November 5, residents of Washington State voted on a law to label genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and genetically engineered (GE) foods.

This is a huge win for protecting our consumer rights to know and our health.  When large corporations put the profits of their shareholders ahead of the good and well-being of the public they serve there is nobody to police them.  The policymakers in state capitals and Washington D.C. get campaign contributions from such large companies.  There is really no motivation for them to bite the hand that feeds them!  So we are on our own.

However, the people have spoken and this is what we choose.  To all know what they are putting in our food that is not how God made these plants that they have altered and I feel that has a large connection to the growing obesity epidemic in our country.

Think about it if you eat food (calories) with less nutrients or foreign genes our body is lacking and we need more food.  Thus we eat more of the wrong things and get FAT!  When we are fat we are less healthy and need Medication!  More companies that support politicians make much more money.

I have always wondered why the regulating body was the FOOD and Drug administration!

That is a discussion for another day.  Here is list of the companies who tried to hide the fact that a court of law brought out that tried to supply the fight against you knowing what is in your food:

As of this writing, the list of donors and amount of each company’s donation submitted to the Public Disclosure Commission includes the following, which totals up to $7,222,500 Looks like Pepsi, Coke, and Nestle are the top funders trying to hide their identity. Quite the triangle of authority of junk food producers, and purveyors of chronic disease:
